Resources and Equipment for Online Courses

In order to access Blackboard, or to take an online course, you will need to meet the following minimum computer requirements:

PC System Requirements

  • 1 GHz Intel Pentium III processor or higher
  • 2 GB of available disk space or higher
  • 1 Gig of RAM or higher
  • CD-ROM
  • Sound card with speakers
  • Microphone
  • Video card with high color (16 bit) capability or better
  • Keyboard and Mouse
  • Highly Recommended – High Speed Internet Access (Cable, DSL, or FIOS)
    • Minimum - Modem with a speed of 56Kbps

MAC System Requirements

  • 32 or 64 bit new Intel Based iMAC, Mini Mac, MAC Pro, MacBook or MacBook Pro
  • 32 bit display adapter
  • 2 Gigs of available disk space or higher
  • 1 Gig of RAM (2 Gigs Recommended)
  • CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive
  • Sound card with speakers or headphones
  • Microphone
  • Video adapter and monitor with 1024x768 or higher resolution
