The Multi-Level Patient Care Technician program provides students with the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to enter the healthcare field as Patient Care Technicians. These Patient Care Technicians work with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to oversee and monitor patients. As a vital member of the healthcare team, they provide direct patient care and comfort measures, take patients' vital signs, collect specimens, and much more.

Multi-Level Patient Care Technicians who are cross-trained in venipuncture, electrocardiography, long-term care, home healthcare, and medication procedures enjoy much broader responsibilities and advancement opportunities in a variety of clinical settings.

Tasks

-Answer patients' call signals.

-Turn and reposition bedridden patients, alone or with assistance, to prevent bedsores.

Testing fees are included in the tuition for the student's first certification examination. Although many institutions quote the annual tuition, Dover Business College lists tuition based on the stated length of the program. There is no tuition increase for continuously enrolled students.

The Multi-Level Patient Care Technician day program is a 55-credit  program designed to be completed in 4 academic quarters, and is generally finished in 12 months. The evening program is designed to be completed in 6 academic quarters and is generally finished in 18 months.
